I Quit Smoking Cigarettes Overnight With Magic Mushrooms!

Writer: ShayShay

For almost 20 years of my life, I smoked cigarettes. Every morning I would roll out of bed and head to the patio to smoke a bowl and a cigg. Some people need coffee before they start their day, I needed a smoke. I had tried many times in the past to quit to no avail. Patches and gum, prescription medications (talk about crazy dreams), cold turkey and even acupuncture were tried. Although there were times that I did quit for short periods of time, it was never without the nail biting, cravings, irritability and so much more.

I had already been incorporating psilocybin into my life and had heard that it could help with all sorts of addictions such as, drugs, alcohol and cigarettes! They (the mushrooms) had already given me back feeling in my hands and leg that was lost due to spinal neuropathy. They had helped me lose weight and I was in the best health of my adult life both mentally and physically. So I thought, "Why not try to utilize this gift from mother nature to better my life even more and rid myself of my nicotine dependance".

It was right then that I decided to give it a try. I would be lying if I told you that I had complete confidence that it would work. I still had my reservations. How could mushrooms do something I had been trying to do for many years without success? Even with my reservations, I still went into it with an open mind.

I went into the evening with a positive mindset, sat down and meditated for about 10 minutes and kept repeating to myself that I no longer wanted to smoke cigarettes. While making my tea, which had about 2.5g of dry penis envy mushrooms, I continued to to reaffirm my want and desire to no longer be holden to the cigarettes. Then I drank the tea, put my headphones on (I had pre downloaded the Johns Hopkins Psilocybin Playlist) and pulled my fuzzy, bear eyemask over my eyes and laid down.

I remember that it wasn't a particularly interesting journey. There was a goat man with horns present in the distance which is about the only thing I can actually recall from that time. What I do know is that when I woke up the next morning I had no want, need or desire to go light up a smoke. I went to the patio packed a bowl or two or three and still had no need to reach for the pack, I did keep looking at it because it was a routine, Smoke a bowl than a cigg. Get in the car and light one up. For many years it was like that, but this was the first time I could look at and hold the pack in my hand yet have no desire to open the pack and light one up. Still to this day, which at the time of writing has been 338 days since I have smoked a cigarette, I have no itch to smoke, no craving for nicotine, no restless legs or snappy, short demeanor. I am free.
